Akili Dada is conscious of the agency of young women and girls and their inherent capacity to create and implement solutions to their communities’ challenges. Through our publications, we seek to consolidate knowledge that will inform and propel women into effective change agents for the continent.
Aunty Salama
Akili Dada seeks to deploy a WhatsApp chatbot 'Aunty Salama'. The purpose of the Aunty Salama is to engage adolescent girls and young women, providing them with credible, age-appropriate knowledge resources and information to tackle the knowledge gap for Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) information. We envision that this platform will be safe, interactive, effective, understood, and, most importantly, easily accessible through mobile phones and computers/laptops.
Adolescent girls and young women will interact with Aunty Salama via a WhatsApp number 0114888777. Upon entry, Aunty Salama will prompt for age verification before allowing them to access the information. We have contracted CUGI Limited to design and deploy the WhatsApp bot on behalf of Akili Dada.
