CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIRLS AGE 13 – 19 TO DEVELOP AS LEADERS IN THEIR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES
The Young Changemakers Program creates opportunities for girls age 13-19 to develop as leaders in their schools and communities. Dadas in this program are provided the space and support to develop their personal leadership style, learn how to identify issues and areas of need in their communities and build tangible skills to address those issues.
High School Scholarship
From competitive scholarships to Akili Dada Club members, the high school programmes ensure that there’s effective Mentoring of the students, as well as Service Learning and Leadership Academies that seeks to nurture a well-rounded future leader.
Akili Dada’s innovative mentoring program relies on an extensive network of devoted mentors who are drawn from a wide range of professional sectors.
Leadership Academies are 4-day residential workshops that focus on a different aspect of leadership, offering lifelong learning practices and is designed to adapt as our young women leaders grow in age and experience.
Every Akili Dada scholar is required to assess her community’s needs and design and implement a fitting project to address a need of particular concern to her. Our service learning requirement ensures that our scholars remain rooted in their communities and in touch with local needs.
