After nine exciting months in the Gap Year program, the class of 2017 graduated in a colourful ceremony. The Gap Year experience is an opportunity for the girls to build professional skills, realise their innate value and provides a safe space for self discovery. During their time in the program, the girls interned at different organisations including; Isuzu EA Ltd, formerly General Motors EA, Faraja Cancer Center, Sadili Oval, and Kusoma Tu Foundation as well as Premier Training Services and StoryMoja. The girls shared fun experiential learning moments hiking around the country, played football at the Global Goals World Cup and took photography classes with Photostart.
The program also provided resources and expertise for college/university preparation; Claris is now a student at the African Science Academy, while June joined 13 fellow alumnae at Ashesi University.
Don’t take our word for it, hear the girls speak for themselves.
