Come meet Director of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) and Founder of Akili Dada, Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg.

She's an accomplished and dynamic leader, internationally recognized for her role in shaping and creating an innovative, transformative model of leadership development for women and girls in Kenya. 

She has received widespread recognition for her work including being named as the one of New African Woman Magazine's top 11 Women who are changing the game on the continent (2016), honored as a White House Champion of Change (2012), named one of the 100 Most Influential Africans by New African magazine, recognized as a 2012 Ford Foundation Champion of Democracy, awarded the 2011 Yamashita Prize and the 2010 United Nations Intercultural Innovation Award, among others.

We look forward to an inspiring evening as she shares her own leadership journey, from the founding of Akili Dada to developing an empowering work culture and transitioning well.
