Our Mission

Akili Dada works to empower promising young women from underprivileged backgrounds to become the next generation of African women leaders.

We seek to address the vast underrepresentation of women from diverse backgrounds in decision-making positions across the continent. We are addressing this issue by strategically investing in the empowerment of talented young women from underprivileged backgrounds by providing access to high-quality secondary education, personalized mentoring, and leadership development grounded in community service. We focus on going ‘deep’ rather than ‘wide’ by working with a limited number of scholars, offering comprehensive support (from school uniforms to personal hygiene products) to the select few who meet our rigorous requirements.
